Woke up and now I feel, In danger of being real. The same writers that you quote, Is the conscious that you kill. You should never turn to look back when you’re walking away. It’s the truth…. or at least, that’s what they say. Well the sun never shines when it should And this is what I get for being good You may not understand where I’m coming from So just hold me till the morning comes. Woke up all alone; In trouble and far from home. Broke down in between white lines; Hanging on for more sweet time. They say when the sun shines, you should make your hay. But baby, ain’t no sun shining today. Because the sun never shines when it should, And this is what I get when I try to be good You may not really get where I’m coming from But just hold me till the morning comes.

Tell me what you’re looking for, I’ll tell you what I’m missing I’d like to think that I’m one of a kind A father’s line doesn’t guarantee wisdom If the driver’s seat is empty and the passengers are blind. Just being in the room don’t make you present. Pretend we live like they do on screen. Sometimes success is attained by suppression. Combine the chemicals and see what I mean. Oh Mama, why do you settle for that? Oh Mama, why don’t you ever fight back? Cause when the tide comes in, Sometimes it’s better just to wait. And when the sun goes down, Yeah, you know it’s getting late. And when the tide comes in, Sometimes it’s better just to wait. But when the sun’s going down, It’s time to get away. You’ve got the stage, so you might as well use it. Check your hair and makeup and remember your lines. We’re dealt this hand, you know we don’t choose it. But things just go like that sometimes. Oh poor boy, why is that really how to act? Oh poor boy, why do you look at me like that? Cause when the tide comes in, Sometimes it’s better just to wait. And when the sun goes down, Yeah, you know it’s getting late. And when the tide comes in, Sometimes it’s better just to wait. But when the sun’s going down, It’s time to get away.

Why Don't 03:23
The bottle is a good way to bottle things up, but it all burns out in time. Cotton candy daydreams tomorrow today, putting fire out with wine. You try and try to talk yourself right down from the ledge…. so hard to say a long goodbye. Tomorrow shares the same blank stares, you’re screaming out and no one cares oh why... Why don’t you call me up and come back home. (x4) Don’t bother trying to chase all the bothers away…. no the woman can keep you up. Shotgun saints don’t doubt that they know the way, why don’t you come and join the club. You re- and re-evaluate the weight of today so many times you lose count. The confused kid has blown his lid from the hills to rows that skid down down... Why don’t you call me up and come back home (x4)

Josephine 04:52
In a room with no windows, there's a box in the corner. And it holds all the letters, of a love that's no longer. Josephine wakes up, her pale face upset. Wearing last night's makeup, and two-year's regret. As she fumbles through the room, looking through bloodshot eyes-- she's half-filled with anger the other half surprise. Outside it's the same people going about their day but her world is changing, with each breath she takes. Her regrets are the lines on her soft young face And they keep coming back though she tries to erase. (Chorus) And now a voice whispers to her; the ghost of her mother. Says to put down the bottle, and It's time to come join her. She looks in the mirror, with a steadfast face. She says, "If I'm gonna go out, I'm not going out that way." But now she's grown and can't fight, this feeling that's been coming.... 'Cause when she was young, she thought we all lived for something. And the ghost perseveres, says, "remember your past, remember the good times, you know they don't last." "You can let go right now, and get out today. Because six days sober, is like dying anyway." You can come join the crowd, and sing out loud, Josephine. (chorus) And she's seen the world, from Paris to Manhattan. But it's always a search, of things soon forgotten. And she wakes at night in a pillow full of tears; it's a war of the mind and she's losing to her fears. But she wants to believe, that everything is ok. She wants to look back, And laugh about it one day, She wants hold on, to that little girl, Josephine

Mystery Boy 03:52
Mystery boy, you’ve got a lot to think about now Wanna slow things down? Though the days flow like holy water. I heard you left town... off to go and see the nightlife. Well, Mystery boy, life has its options. You can run if you want to, but one day you will get caught. You can run if you want to... You can run if you want to, but don’t think it is that hard. You can run if you want to. Mystery boy, did you have to burn your house down? Did it bring you joy, to see your name in the paper? Couldn’t walk on by, just another thing that caught your eye. And Mystery boy, that’s your problem. You can run if you want to, but one day you will get caught. You can run if you want to.... You can run if you want to, but don’t think it is that hard. You can run if you want to... Mystery boy, take a good look at yourself now. Take a look at the town you used to call your home.
